Nick VanderLaan

M.S. in Information Systems with a Medical Informatics specialty from Grand Valley State University, 10+ years of experience in information systems

As primary consultant, Nick leads the overall strategy and execution at VanData LLC. With over a decade of experience in consulting on information system implementation and optimization projects— focusing on the healthcare, printing/packaging, construction, and manufacturing industries— Nick’s refined skillset provides the basis for VanData’s BI solutions. He has led multiple ETL projects for system integrations and transitions, and has taken on a variety of roles including project manager, business analyst, technical team lead, and training specialist. Nick’s talent extends to SQL, SSAS, SSIS, SSRS, SQL Server Management, Crystal Reports, C#, Visual Studio, Microsoft Project Management, Data Warehousing, QlikView, analytical database development, ETL methodologies, OLAP and OLTP databases, ITIL methodologies, System Development life cycle strategies, and Subversion code management. In what free time is afforded to him, Nick participates in the intermittent Rugby game, hangs with his black lab, and is always looking forward to his next traveling adventure.

Chloe Claeys

B.S. in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Business Management and Psychology from Grand Valley State University

Chloe is responsible for all things HR, sales, office admin and business relations. She enjoys learning and mastering new management skills and business strategies as well as attending local business and networking events to stay connected and up to date in the Grand Rapids business community. In her free time, Chloe loves going on walks with her dog, Skippy , playing in golf scrambles with her fiancé, and spending her weekends in the summer boating on Gun Lake.

Eli Bergsma

B.S. in Computer Information Systems from Ferris State University with 4+ years of working with business intelligence and reporting

Eli has experience in Scrum, SQL, Java, HTML/CSS, and Android app development. From college intern to full time graduate, he has quickly picked up analytics/reporting skills and his abilities continue to grow. An avid board game player, Eli is an integral member of the VanData team. Beyond business intelligence, Eli has also been raising a flock of sheep for 6 years. As he puts it, "It's part experiment, part subsistence farming, and excuse to have a Great Pyrenese Dog (along with a Dutch Shepherd and Swedish Vallhund).

Connor Scholten

M.S. in Data Science and Analytics from Grand Valley State University

Connor has worked 4 years in E-commerce and is a yo-yo champion and online instructor, with several YouTube highlights. He also worked 2 years at an injection mold shop for the quality team. Connor is experienced in R, SAS, HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, SQL, Git, Java, and Python. In his spare time, Connor enjoys gaining new skills and tutoring in Math, Statistics, and Data Analysis, as well as supporting the yo-yo community worldwide.

Maxwell Tober

B.S. in Computer Science from Grand Valley State University

Max specializes in Crystal Reports and BI solutions such as Qlikview. His hobbies have started to drift towards more fitness oriented things such as biking, running, and hiking. He also enjoys learning new programming languages or practicing things he already knows. On the weekends Max enjoys either hanging out with his friends or relaxing at home.

Andrew Hoffman

B.S.E. in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan

Andrew has experience in Full Stack App Development, Enterprise level Ingestion and ETL processes, and Data Analytics and Reporting Software. Outside of business intelligence work, Andrew has prior experience in installing and maintaining custom smart home technology, and in the commercial interiors construction industry. A devoted reader of science fiction and fantasy books, he spends his time outside of work reading the works of Frank Herbert, Neil Gaiman, Brandon Sanderson, Terry Pratchett, and Patrick Rothfuss.

Sonjoy Chondo

M.S. in Information Systems and Data Analytics from Central Michigan University

Sonjoy has 1+ year of experience working with SQL, Python, Visual Basics, Tableau, R, MS Excel, and Power BI. As a food lover, he loves to try new cuisines from all over the world and cook some new recipes in his free time. When it comes to interests and hobbies, he likes to play soccer, volleyball, tennis, baseball, and cricket. Whenever he gets time, he likes to spend time with friends and family, meet new people, exploring new tourist destinations and watch movies. He is friendly and fun-loving.

Kevin Fitzgerald

B.S. in Information and Network Security from Ferris State University and has five years of experience in BI work.

Kevin specializes in Oracle, SQL Server, and Java, with experience in a variety of reporting tools. He has experience working with factories, municipalities, and utilities. He lives with his wife and two children, whom you will likely hear about if you talk with him at all. Kevin enjoys video games and, when he actually gets time with other adults, board games.

Jon Shoemaker

Jon worked for 10 years in a full stack environment. This included creating eCommerce sites, API’s, serverless functions, DevOps, and database management. He also has experience with cloud environments including Azure, AWS and GCP. With a 3 year-old girl and a boy on the way, he enjoys spending time with his family. In his free time, he likes to play games or read a little bit of everything.

Caleb Chamberlain

A.G.S. from Grand Rapids Community College. B.S. Computer Information Systems from Ferris State University

Caleb brings 12+ years of experience providing services across the IT infrastructure spectrum. This experience includes AWS, MySQL, GNU/Linux, HTML/CSS, Git, Eclipse IDE, DevOps, and NetOps. He is married and lives in Wyoming with his four kids, two boys and two girls. In his free time Caleb enjoys working on projects around the home, playing various sports, listening to books on Audible, and watching his kid’s different sporting events.

Caleb Poe

B.S. in Computer Science from Grand Valley State University

Caleb has experience with many programming languages, including Python, Java, C, SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. During his time as an intern at VanData, he gained many business intelligence skills, including Data Engineering, Crystal Reports designing, and Power BI Report designing. In his free time, Caleb enjoys watching sports and playing basketball.

Grace Minai

Pursuing a M.S. in Data Science and Analytics at Grand Valley State University

Grace is experienced in R, Python, SQL, XML, Database Management, Machine Learning, and Computer Vison. Working under very experienced Business Intelligence Developers, she is very excited to master the art of the field, become a Crystal Reports and BI expert.

Grace is an advocate for peace and change. As a tech enthusiast, she seeks to combine her passions that leverage technology to promote peace and facilitate positive transformation by embracing the ever-evolving digital landscape to foster dialogue, educate and mobilize individuals towards an equitable world.

Evan Parks

Pursuing a M.S. in Applied Computer Science at Grand Valley State University

Evan received his Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences from Grand Valley State University and is continuing his education by obtaining a Master's degree in Applied Computer Science. In his free time, he enjoys furthering his knowledge and understanding of Computer Science related topics and plays collegiate Rocket League for Grand Valley State University.

Drew Laidig

Pursuing a M.S. in Data Analytics at Davenport University

After graduating from Ferris State University with a B.S. in Data Analytics in 2021, Drew began her professional career as a Data Analyst at a freight brokerage in Kentwood, MI. Throughout her time as a student and industry professional, she has gained in-depth knowledge in several data analytics and reporting software and has learned she loves connecting with people along the way. Outside of work, Drew enjoys spending time with friends and family and trying new foods and experiences with her Fiancé.
